The night the lights went out...

The ice storm left us without power on Tuesday night, however, we were prepared! Sissy's electricity went out earlier in the night and she loaded up her family and went over to meme's house. John said that we could turn the gas fireplace on and we could stay warm...we didn't need electricity for that...I don't understand how that works, but anyway. So he gathered up all the flashlights and we were ready.

It started out like every night - Luke not wanting to sleep in his crib...crying, crying, etc. Then all the sudden the electricity goes out. John and I clear out the toys in the living room (no I'm not running a daycare - but I could) and made a pallet on the floor. Then we went and got Kate - she never woke up until 2 am in the morning - and Luke. Luke slept all night right there! I should put him on the floor every night.

You can see Kate in her pink Pjs and then Luke is to her right...under the blue/green blanket.

Here is how Luke woke up this morning. I'm beside him. John thought the pillow was over his head...it wasn't.

Seriously, we look like Hobos - who does this? It sounded like a good idea last night...now that I'm writing about it...seems crazy. John told me this morning that the electricity came back on about midnight. WHAT?? Why didn't I go back to bed? My back is killing me!!!

and you ask, who does this? asian people. i plan on blogging about it since i've seen and read about everyone making pallets on the floor.

Glad to hear your power wasn't off for long. Sounds like we are one of the few that haven't lost power yet. David's parents are currently staying with us and if my mom can make it up she is going to come stay with us too until her power comes back on.

Put him on the floor every night... if that's what it takes!

ahhh, "camping" in the living room! How neat! Glad your power wasn't out for long. From what I hear from others in NWA, you're lucky!
