A Good Book

I just finished this book The Help by Kathryn Stockett and really enjoyed it. So much so, that I thought I would share it on my blog.
A brief overview: This book is set in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1962, where there are lines that are not crossed. With the civil rights movement exploding all around them, three women start a movement of their own, forever changing a town and the way women - black and white, mothers and daughters interact.

I loved the characters - they each draw you in to their story. The author writes the dialogue phonetically, so you can get the full southern effect. I was sad when the book was over. I really loved all the characters and long to know how their lives continued. If you are looking for a good book, please check this one out.

I read this about a year ago and fell in love with it! I read it in one sitting. They are making a movie of it now.
