We went to St. Louis with some friends over the 4th holiday. It was the first time we traveled with both children. We were really nervous but they did really well in the car ride. We only had to stop twice. I think they really liked staying up late, too.

Once we got into St. Louis, we went out to dinner and came back to the hotel. It took awhile to get the kids down for bed. We had requested a crib in our room and it turned out to be a 'pack and play' which Luke will not sleep in. So we all piled into the King bed. I don't know how people do the "family bed" it was too much. John and I got little sleep.

Friday morning, we went to the Zoo, it was so neat. The kids loved it. Here are some pics from the zoo. There are a lot of pics.

She loved the elephants.

Luke wanted to get out so bad. He was looking at all the monkeys.

On the train. Kate LOVED the train. This was at the end of the day and they were both so worn out. But Kate waved at everyone at every crossing.

We were lost. We couldn't find our way out of the zoo.

That night we came back, grabbed some dinner and then went to watch the fireworks under the arch. It was really a nice night.

This was so cute! As soon as the fireworks started, Caleb put his hands over his eyes.

Then his mommy put his earphones on.

All the kids loved the fireworks.

Kate goofing around.

It was raining the morning of the 4th, but we were still able to catch some of the parade without it raining on us.

After the parade, we walked over to the park that had these fountains everywhere. The kids loved it.

We went swimming that afternoon.

One of Kate's favorite things was to play with the phone. We had to unplug it.

Here Luke is climbing on things in the room!

That night, we walked back down to the arch to catch the second fireworks show. Kate got an umbrella from the zoo and is obsessed with it.

On the last night, we sent the travel crib back and got a roll-away-bed. Then we pushed it up next to the bed and put chairs on the other side. Kate loved sleeping in it.

I know it's a lot of pictures, but these are not even close to all of them! John is a picture taking nut! Hope you had a great 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

Nothing says 4th of July like sparklers or black snakes! Happy 4th of July everyone!

I don't think this sparkler was working right, John assured me it was. Who let's their kid walk around with a flaming stick? Mommy of the year!
