Superheros to the Rescue!

We decided it was best for Kate not to go door to door trick or treating last night. However, she really wanted to and could not understand why she couldn't. We did let them dress up and hand out candy.

This is the best shot I could get of them. Superman has a HUGE bruise on the middle of his forehead. The other day, I was getting him ready to take to school and he wanted to play, so he took off running and trip and hit his head on the corner of the door. A HUGE bruise and bump popped up and all I could think about was...oh no, now he will have to be in the hospital. But he stopped crying within like 2 mins and started playing again. But the bruise is still there. Poor guy. Kate really wanted to be a spider, but I could not find her a spider costume, so she settled for "spidergirl".
Here they are handing out candy.
Here are some friends of ours who live down the street. Their kids are so cute, but I love Charles' costume. If you watch Saturday Night Live, you will get it.
Hope you had a good Halloween, don't eat too much candy!

Halloween Night

Kate, Luke and Jacob were so cute on Halloween. We didn't think Kate would wear her Bee costume, but she did and wore it pretty much all night. Mind you, she wore them with her new Pink crocs that she won't take off. They have the lining in them to keep her feet warm. I swear they are brown now. Note to self: wash them. Kate did start to feel better on Friday night.

Kate was a Bumble Bee (nod to the Bee Movie)

Luke in his pumpkin shirt and then later in the night in his cow outfit.

Jacob was a sailor - he's in the Navy (nod to his daddy's days in the Navy)

Jacob and Kate had a good time answering the door and seeing all the kiddos. We had a hard time keeping them out of the candy. Kate did trick or treat a couple of houses on the block. John said she did very well. When she woke up this morning, she wanted to go again. Can't wait until next year!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! We had big, big plans today, but then the sickness came. Yep, both kids are fighting something. Luke was stuffy and fussy, which is so not him. He is getting over it and you can tell he's feeling better. Kate has a terrible cough and I've tried everything to get rid of it. So I'm working off like 5 hours sleep in two nights. But I feel fine, maybe sleep is overrated.

We had a Halloween party this am for our MOM's CLUB. I'm on the party planning committee and I didn't do much. The other ladies really picked up my slack. I made the party favor bags. Then we were suppose to have a party at Kate's school at 3pm, I am to bring cupcakes. Then tonight, you know is the big day, so Sissy and Jacob are coming over to trick or treat.

Well, we just dropped off the bags at the party this morning, then I dropped off the cupcakes at school. Kate is not coughing as much, but she won't put on her costume...it's a bee costume. So there goes our fun day!

Check back for Pictures from tonight! Have a safe holiday. Pics from last year:

GNO

Last night was Girl Night Out! Sissy and I were the only ones who could make it - catch you next time Mel and Van. So we talked about Halloween costumes - of course!

As a girl growing up in the country - we never had any trick or treaters - if we wanted to trick or treat, we went to "town". Since we live in a pretty kid-friendly neighborhood - I LOVE Halloween. Those kiddos dressing up and going house to house - L.O.V.E. I.T. I always want John to dress up like a mummy and stand outside to scare the kids. A friend of ours wants to stand in the bushes and spray them with a waterhose, but that's anther post. Last year, Kate loved taking the bucket of candy over to the door and giving out candy. So this year, I think she will really enjoy asking for candy.

I was thinking we could dress Kate up like a cheerleader and Jacob as a football player and they could go hand in hand together door to door. (this is a fantasy)

Oh well, I have no idea what they will be for Halloween, but here is a pic from last year. Look how they have grown.
