Working on the Resolutions...

One of my New Year Resolutions was to plan meals more accordingly and save money - well today I did both. I saw on another blog where the lady had a theme every night and planned her menu around that, so here is what mine looks like:
Monday: Lite night - something simple and light after all the bad eating we did over the
weekend. (This week - Grilled Chicken Chef salad with Homemade ranch dressing)
Tuesday: Mexican (This week - Chicken Tacos with 7 layer dip)
Wednesday: Open - because we have a friend that usually joins us for dinner every Wednesday night, we decided to leave this one open. (Chicken casserole & Green beans)
Thursday: American (Tater Tot casserole with Corn)
Friday: Italian (Minestrone soup with French Bread)
The weekends are a little harder to plan because we like to eat out. So I will play that by ear. I went to the grocery store today and used my coupons saving over wait for it.....$8.00. Ok, so I'm no Melody Winberry....yet! John said that he will track my savings - he loves to track stuff and at the end of each month put it into my savings account for me to do whatever I want with it. Wow, now that's an incentive.
When I got back from the grocery store, here's what I came home to:
Luke and John are both asleep, but at least John is laying down. Luke has fell asleep sitting up!
Have a good week.

Awww..how cute they are!!!

Way to go on sticking to your resolution. One of my resolutions this year is to 1. plan and stick to a budget. I should do more coupon clipping...$8.00 isn't much at once but those savings definitely add up! Can't wait to hear how much you saved at the end of the month.

Also, thanks for the napping comment on our blog. That turned on a big lightbulb in my head and I thought back to her good nights' rests and it does make all the difference in the world. She always takes the same naps at the same time each day but is sometimes interrupted. I just help her get back to sleep if she gets awakened too soon now. Thanks!!

Have a great week!!

Look at you and your coupon clipping. I'm very impressed. I keep thinking about tracking my savings but I'm not sure I want to mess with keeping track of it. Did you get a Sunday paper today? There were 5 coupon inserts! I'm also still working on posting my new year's resolutions but better meal planning it definitely one of them. We may have to start posting some recipes that we can swap. Love, love, love the picture.

That sleeping picture is great! Reminds me of when Gabby used to fall asleep sitting up in her Bumbo chair. :-)

I actually did a meal plan this week too but no coupons. I guess I could work my way up to that :)
