Weekend Roundup

This has been a long week - remember when I told you I didn't know what day it was, well, the weekend was here and I wouldn't have known, but John didn't go to work on Saturday.

All day Friday I was stuffy, runny nose (how can you be both at the same time?) cloudy head. Finally, by the afternoon, it started letting up. I called John at work and said - I cannot stay in this house another night! We are eating out! Now, the kids weren't feeling great. Their noses were still runny pretty good. So John stayed in with them and I went to eat with a friend. We went to Crabby's. Very good. I had a steak salad - because I'm on south beach (another story).

Saturday we were suppose to go to Grandma Pittman's house then to a pool party at a friend's house. Kate was much better, just a little cough. Luke had green snot and John was starting to feel achy. So we didn't go to Ft. Smith nor to the pool party. We really missed hanging out with all our friends. Kate and I did spend the morning shopping! We had the best time. We've never done anything like that before. We went to the mall, shopped and had lunch. She was so good at lunch, that one lady stopped and asked me how old she was because she was sitting so well and behaving and eating her food.

She was eating all her food because at Mimi's cafe, they give kids "dirt cake" which has worms in it, after they eat. Here she is eating her worm. It was the toughest worm ever, she could not bite it in two.

We then walked over to the merry-go-around. She said she was going to ride a "brown horse" this time. Last time, she picked a bench! John and I laughed because she was riding a bench on the merry-go-around!! She loved the horse this time.
Sunday we went to Mama Pittman's house. The kids swam, played and had a great time. Then we made it back to Rogers to have dinner at Monte Ne Chicken....mmmm. My new neighborhood playgroup invited us and it was so much fun. The food NEVER disappoints and it's fun to meet families in our neighborhood.

I hope you have a great week. I think my kids are finally over their colds. Now it's John's turn!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! We are so excited this time of year. This is Luke's first Christmas and Kate's third. She is so excited to see Santa Claus, but did not want anything to do with him when she does she him. Here is her list for Santa: Baby Bottle (for her baby), camera, school bus and a purse. So funny. This past weekend, we did a project where we made Christmas trees out of Sugar Cones and Icing - John helped her and fun was had by all! She only tried to eat them at the end.

I promise to post more at the first of the year - we have been busy fighting colds, etc. Merry Christmas everyone and I look forward to the New Year!

Weekend Update

We had a good weekend, Meme and Pappaw came to town. Kate was so excited to see them. They had lots of stuff to do, they are buying a house in Bentonville, so they are tied up with that. (more on that to come). Here is a picture of them loving on Luke. They smother my kids with kisses.

On Saturday, Kirk invited us over to watch the game. Kate and Jacob had a great time running around his house. I'm sure Kirk is still trying to recover. They did sit on the couch and watch a movie for like 10 mins. YEAH!

Meme and Pappaw also gave Kate an early birthday gift - A baby doll! She loves baby dolls. Here they are watching Monsters, Inc. together. When I asked Kate what her doll's name was, she said "Kate."
PS - Kate is dressing herself these days. Seriously, it's not worth the fight. You should have seen the socks she wore to school today!
Grey's Anatomy:
Ok, so I watch Grey's anatomy. I got caught up on it this weekend. I have a few observations and if it doesn't improve, I'm not going to watch it anymore. So listen up writers (I'm sure they read my blog.) First off, is it me or does Meredith always look haggered? She wears me out. Why would you be friends with someone like that - she is so depressing. I love Derek. He can do better than Meredith. George: Why is he on the show? He is not McDreamy? Why does he get so many girls - seriously! Is he cute? Is he smart? Is he rich? What is the attraction? The chief: I thought he was going to work less and retire, he is all over the place - why is he being mean to Bailey? She is awesome! I'm worn out with the rest of the group that I can't even talk about them. Also, the plot lines? Sometimes I get tired of all the Medical stuff (ha!) and the disasters- now come on, the hospital floods? The roof collapses on the OR? Seriously? Last week, it was snowing in Seattle in September? This week, it looks nice outside, just a coat will do? You've got just two more episodes to keep me interested or I'm out.
