Home from Motorcycle Trip

John returned home from his motorcycle trip on Saturday. We were all glad he made it back home safely. He enjoyed his ride to CO with his childhood friend and some new friends. There were eight people in total. They camped outside and toured some of the great Colorado landscape. Kate and Luke missed him and was glad he came home to play with them. This morning John told Kate he was going to work and she said "you just got back from Colorado!"

John is the one in the Razorback shirt. This picture was taken by some students who saw them and asked to take their picture for a class project.

I can't believe it's Friday already!

Wow, I have not posted anything since Monday? Wow. Where did the week go?

John still has not passed his kidney stone...yikes! I took him to the specialist on Wednesday and they said that he will need to wait a couple of weeks and see if it's passed and if not, then they will break it up with soundwaves, etc. He has been working from home all week - I don't know how he can get anything done with these two kids constantly running around! His pain comes and goes. Overall, he is doing better.

We had playgroup today and prior to leaving I made John take the little "playground" as Kate calls it outside. It's a swing and slide combo. It has been in the playroom since the winter and now it needs to go outside where it belongs! I swear my husband would bring those motorcycles in my house if I would let him. Back to the story, Luke was devastated it wasn't in the playroom anymore. He stood at the door and made such a fuss, then Kate saw it outside and started crying! Here is the picture of John comforting them:

Three side notes:

#1I know I have posted a picture of Kate in this outfit before - I love it, it's so cute, I got it off Ebay and she doesn't wear it everyday. Because we were going to playgroup, I wanted her to wear something with pants because she likes to slide and has trouble sliding with a dress or shorts on, hence this capri outfit. It's a lobster outfit, well I also found Luke a lobster outfit (not on Ebay, but at Gymboree). So cute.

#2 If you expand this picture you might notice Kate's nose has a strip of a band-aid on it. Kate scratched her nose BEFORE Easter and it has not healed up yet. The main reason for this - KATE! When she has her passy at night, she plays with it and ends up picking the scab off her nose. Many mornings she has woke up with a BIGGER sore on it from picking it the night before. I'm constantly saying "Stop picking your nose" "Did you pick your nose" funny thing is, she is not "picking" her nose, she's picking at it!? So the other morning, I said - No more passy at night until your nose heals up. I've also been putting a band-aid on it - All day, I do take it off when we go to Walmart. However, I don't even notice it anymore and left it on for this picture. She will even say - Where's my band-aid - it fell off. For real, If you have a better fix for the nose picking, let me know. The benefit is that for the last two nights she has had no passy and it wasn't bad. She asked for it the first night. The second night, she didn't even mention it.

#3 I'm the mother that puts my kids in matchy outfits...and they aren't the same sex. Is that weird?

Update on Luke - he is so funny, I found him today standing on the table on the kitchen/diner playset. I freaked out, he just laughed. I wish I had a picture of it. He is walking really well and trying to talk. He did start signing the word for "more" of course, when he wants more FOOD!

Have a good weekend!

I bet it's a kidney stone...

We have had a busy day. Today we went to the "Firetruck" Park - as Kate calls it. We played and played. Then we stopped by Sonic to get some slushes - then we went to Sam's Club. We had just enough time to get everyone home before Jacob came over. We were watching him so Kris and Sissy could take his mother to dinner for her birthday. As we are walking out of Sam's club, John says - "My back hurts a little". I said "Oh yeah, maybe it's a kidney stone..."

And it was! Seriously, 5 mins later as we were loading the car - he is doubled-over in pain. Saying he is really in a lot of pain and he is about to be sick. He doesn't want to go home - he wants to go to the hospital. I'm like "WHAT??!!!" I have to watch Jacob. I can't go to the hospital. I have two kids in the back. Plus, I have all this stuff I just bought at Sam's! Are you sure?

Yep, he's sure. We go to the hospital and Sissy has to come get my kids. Dinner was postponed (sorry) and stuff from Sam's is still in the back of my car.

John is really hurting...his high does meds aren't doing the trick. I bet we have to go back to the Hospital.

This is John's second kidney stone - the first one was the day after I got home from the hospital after having a baby. Kate to be exact. My mother had to take him to the ER because I was still on meds...plus I had a baby. He had to stay overnight with a Morphine drip. They must really hurt him.

Well, I've had a kidney stone too. LONG TIME before I had a baby. I thought labor was worse. I got up, showered, went to work, drove myself to the doctor, got my own prescription filled and then didn't take any of it. I also had back labor - which I thought was a kidney stone. When I found out it wasn't a kidney stone and I was actually in labor, I was glad to get an epidural. That's what John needs. An epidural.

Finally

Well, here it is - you know that John has grown a beard. He grows one every winter, but the last couple of years, it has gotten...bushy. I've asked him to trim it and the more I ask the thicker it gets, so I've let it go. Tonight, he decided to shave the whole thing off! Yep, but before it all goes, we have a good time....

Just kidding - still a hot mess.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend! We went to my parents house in Dardanelle. Lots of family there - we had a really good time. Warning - lots of pictures -
On Friday my cousin Amber brought over her kids to play with Kate and Luke. Cole is 5 and Kayla is the same age as Kate (2). Kayla also had a friend with her Lily. They wanted to play outside, but it was too cold!

Here they are all together. Luke, Lily, Kayla, Cole and Kate

Here is one w/Luke looking at the camera, but Lily is out of the shot.

Since it was beautiful on Saturday, we did a little shopping, had a little lunch and then let Kate have an Easter Egg Hunt. She carried her basket and Luke's.

She dressed herself. I guess I'm going to have to throw this heart jacket away, she LOVES it.

She's been eating the candy...notice the chocolate lips.

Luke having a good time.
Pappaw is Kate's partner in Crime...notice the candy in his hand.

Kate relaxing with her new friend - Jasper. She LOVES Jasper. She wanted her Daddy to "get her a Jasper."

Here she is walking Jasper around the house.

Also on Saturday, she got to ride on the tractor and 4-wheeler. I didn't get any picture of the tractor.
Here is Luke eating his new favorite thing - Graham Crackers!

On Sunday we got dressed up and went to Church with Meme and Pappaw.

Here is Meme and Pappaw with us.

After Church, Luke and John fell asleep - before Lunch.

Since it was so cold and raining, we hid eggs in the house. In theory a good idea, but really it wasn't because there was candy in them. They wouldn't stop eating the candy. Here is Jacob with one of his eggs. Notice he is going for the candy.

Kate looking for Eggs.

Jacob with his rabbit ears on.

Jacob and Kate - this is the best we could get. Kate was crying hard right before this picture. I can't believe she managed a smile.

After dinner we were hanging out with Luke. Sissy and Luke, my cousins Amber and Shelby.

Luke w/his Rabbit ears.

The Rabbit cake. John called it an upside down tooth cake and my Dad called it a cake with a big piece missing out of it.

I hope everyone had a Good Easter Weekend!

I'm back

I've been feeling un-inspired lately with the blog, so I apologized for not posting anything lately. So get ready for some pictures...
Here is Melody and Me - we had dinner with the Winberrys for David's birthday at Herman's....that place has not changed in 10 years. For real...check out the curtains!

David and Melody

Meme gave Kate two goldfish the other day. Here she is showing them to her babies. The one with the green pants on is named Bob. She named her - I have no idea where Bob came from. Also, one of the fish went "home" and she said the other one is sad now. Where does she come up with this stuff?

Kate has a kitchen set outside on the deck. Here is Luke looking at Kate - he got up on her little couch to see her. Shortly after this shot, he tried to sit down and fell back.

As in the previous picture Luke is always standing up. He wants to walk so bad, he hates crawling. Here he is trying to ride Kate's motorcycle. When I put him on it, he gets so excited...big smile on his face...he loves it. I think this is a bad sign.

Here is Jacob - my adorable nephew. He was at Meme's riding in the double stroller without a passenger. He loves that thing. Seriously, loves it.

Here is John and Kate, they were grilling hotdogs

I hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow! Enjoy this beautiful weather!

This weekend

We had a good time this weekend. Here are some pictures from Saturday morning. Kate and Luke were playing. Luke is rolling over now, we are so excited. He is such a big boy. Kate gets really jealous and rolls over too. We have to cheer for her. He loves playing under his little gym and Kate plays with him too.

Then the Steelers were playing the Colts which in our house is John vs. Kris. The teams were dressed and ready to go. Sad to say that Steelers lost, but Jacob and Luke looked so cute!
